The Last Days of California…

Things are going good. I haven’t been here in a while. I suppose I’m not a steady blogger or maybe I am, but it’s a more latent talent that doesn’t inspire me with thrilldom to bring to the surface. I will attempt to change this. I think.

I know. It’s all very vague. We shall see.

Am near finished The Last Days of California by Mary Miller. It’s about a mother and father who believe the end of the world is coming and take themselves and their two teenage daughters on a trip to California to, I guess, celebrate this. One of the daughters is pretty much an atheist and is even secretly pregnant. The other daughter is a closet agnostic who has severe doubts about God. And everything. The book is told from her point of view. It keeps you reading, but now that I’m reaching the end, it’s all coming together rather beautifully and I realize The Last Day’s of California is a very profound and moving book.

Reading short stories too and philosophical stuff which I’ll get into at a later date.

Or I won’t.
